Song Composing Club's KaleidoSound 2003 Concert had mark its closing on 21st Feb 2003, 9:00pm. I am really excited even till now.
I was so excited when I saw the audiences still streaming into our Cultural Theatre at 7pm. I was madly hoping for a full house! After waiting for them to get in, we manage to start everything at 7:15pm. Actually I was still kind of clueless till the actual day of the concert, as there weren't really any actual rehearsals till the actual day.
When it came to my song Kun Bang, lyrics by me and melody by Jiarong, Weijian said to me that he would try his best in bringing out the best in the song. Jiarong too said he would try his best and give me the best, then he gave me a hug. Hahaha...I was so touched by them. It all overwhelm me with excitements and happiness when I heard the audiences' loud applauses and cheerings from them during parts when Weijian wasn't singing. Jiarong played well too. The only flaw is that the mike stand for Jiarong was too loose and it kept slipping down.
Yuchun was doing well for most songs except he played wrongly for Mitchelle's Hui Yi. He was upset about it for kind of screwing it up. So when he came into the backstage he was trying to calm himself down. He told me he played wrongly and I assured him that it was still fine. He asked me for a hug and hugged me really tight. I guessed, the hug manage to smoother him down a bit and he proceeded backstage to get himself ready for his next song. Well, little did he know, the hug from him too calm my nerves down a lot.
Everything went on quite smoothly though, just that there was a bit of miscommunications with the lighting crew. The lighting crew thought that they would only shine the spot light when they saw the MCs on stage. But I want the spot lights to be on so that my MCs would be able to know where to stand and the way on stage as it was very dark without any lights on. So during the interval, I didn't get to have any chance to even go to the loo, I had to settle this problem with Jeff.
When it was Wendy, Huiping and my turn to go on stage to sing Ji De Wo Men Hai Zai, I was so nervous. Huiping's mike got detached from the wire when she pulled too hard while getting the mike. So I passed her mine first and waited for Hweeling to bring the other corded mike over. The moment we went on stage people started shouting our names. Hahaha...of cause Junyi shouted the loudest. Some even shouted W.H.Y...hahaha. It was so fun. So after we introduced ourselves, the music came in. We kind of screwed up quite a bit for our songs. As we had forgotten about our old singing of the song and Wendy and Huiping forgot that we were supposed to throw the balloons to the audiences, while only I remembered. So I make a fool of myself when I started picking up a balloon and no one followed. So I let go of the balloon. =P Then the audience laugh! My temperature shot up to 40 degrees when I heard that and it was a mercy I can't see them all clearly due to the smoke. I bet my face was red too. -.-"' But think of it in another way, at least I made the audience laugh and loosen them up.
After my song, I had to get back into my position and pick up my walkie talkie, job plan and be busy again! There were completely no time for me to feel embrassed any more. When Cindy saw that Wendy was upset at the backstage, she came over to see if I was alright. Hahaha...little did she know that I didn't have time to feel not alright! She came and gave me a hug and asked if I was alright. She joke with me some craps. She simply know how to make me smile and feel better. I am so glad to have her around.
I wanted to thank my stage crew, Huiping, Fiyonne, Jonah, Jonathan, Jason and Chaowei. They put in a lot of hard work and also endured many of my frastrated screaming when I can't get them to obey my commands to stay where they were supposed to be at and still goof around. My performers behaved quite well in keeping quiet too when the concert started. I was all stressed up! Heehee...
Oh man, I am going to miss all these experiences. I had a great explosure in this concert. Am glad that the transitions for every songs went on smoothly with not much delays and it was definately better than last year's! During this concert, I had learned to expect the unexpected and to reply fast to changes. All thanks to all the encouragements from Estella, Yuchun, Jiarong, Cindy and Jackson. Hahaha, though most of the times, all they do was to asked me to calm down...I guess I need people to remind me that... =P
I too realised, I kept saying 'Sorry' to the MCs and my stagecrew, when I noticed frowns on their faces. I wanted to let them put their unhappiness and blame on me first. So that they would be able to carry on with the flow and not dwell on what had happened. Well, carrying a bit of loads and accomplised jobs was my aim.
After everything was done, I got my stagecrew to move in the piano into the backstage. Then I had to go with Estella to put my walkie talkie in the club house before I went off. Is a pity I didn't get the chance to take much photos with everyone involved.
When I came out of the backstage, I met up with my boyfriend first. He gave me a sweet teddy bear which we spotted while window shopping in Plaza Singapura. He was so sweet and I was surprised. I wanted to give him a tight hug, but was afraid that my make up would smear on his shirt. Love him so much. He is really a great guy. Always around me when I need him and gave me constructive advises and helps. I am glad I found him...

Had so much fun. Everybody crowded around the table, laughing, joking, eating, goofing around, fighting for food...

Just like what Defeng once told me last year at Michelle's BBQ, 'We must have at least one gathering every year, even after we graduate.'...
Yeah, how true huh?! I want to have gathering every year too...Can we all hook our little fingers and make these dates?
